Project overview
The project was carried out for UAB Šilalės mediena. We transported components of a wood-pellet production system – a 47-tonne drum and its associated rings.
Because of the cargo’s weight, dimensions and specific characteristics, a standard transport solution was not suitable and the entire project had to be planned individually.

Challenge
The main drum weighed 47 tonas, with a diameter of approximately 4 m. The rings transported with it had a combined weight of 7,7 tonos, and their diameter reached 4,4 m.
These parameters meant that the project required not only specialised transport but also detailed coordination of cargo preparation, handling, routing and partner activities.
Our solution
Together with project partners, TLC coordinated the entire transport chain – from preparation in Spain to final delivery in Lithuania.
Technical cargo data, transport equipment, handling operations, route conditions and the actions of all parties involved were coordinated. Because of the non-standard dimensions and weight, every stage was assessed individually and decisions were made with overall project safety and efficiency in mind.
Result
The non-standard equipment and its components were successfully delivered from Spain to Lithuania and reached UAB Šilalės medienathe factory. The project demonstrated that oversized-cargo transport is not about a single vehicle, but about precise coordination of every part of the process – from technical cargo assessment to final delivery.
Key project aspects
The main wood-pellet production drum weighed 47 tonnes, so the transport required individually selected equipment and a carefully prepared handling plan.
The equipment rings transported together with the drum had a combined weight of 7.7 tonnes.
The rings measured 4.4 m in diameter and the drum 4 m. These dimensions placed the cargo in the non-standard and oversized category.
The project was delivered together with MULTITRADE SPAIN S.L. and Baltic Transline, coordinating cargo preparation, transport and the actions of all parties on the route from Spain to Lithuania.
Non-standard cargo transport
Transporting non-standard and oversized cargo requires individual planning. Cargo dimensions, weight, handling possibilities, route, infrastructure restrictions and the final delivery location determine the transport solution required for each project. TLC organises the transport of non-standard, project and heavy cargo across Europe and on international routes, coordinating transport, partners, cargo handling and other project stages.
