The TLC team organised transport of non-standard cargo – a tree-planting forklift and its equipment – from the United States to Lithuania.
The complete transport process was delivered in 40 days. TLC handled not only the sea transport but also customs formalities and other procedures related to delivery.
Because of the non-standard dimensions, an individually selected solution suitable for oversized machinery was required.
Challenge
A tree-planting forklift and its equipment are non-standard cargo that cannot fit into a conventional closed container.
Transporting machinery of this type requires assessment of cargo dimensions and weight, the loading method, securing, sea-transport solution and import procedures at destination.
Our solution
TLC coordinated the entire transport chain from the United States to Lithuania – from selecting the appropriate transport method to arrival at the Port of Klaipėda.
An open transport solution was selected for the oversized equipment, allowing cargo exceeding standard-container dimensions to be transported safely.
We also coordinated customs formalities and other import-related procedures so the customer did not have to manage separate process stages independently.
Result
The oversized cargo successfully reached the Port of Klaipėda and was delivered to the customer in Lithuania.
The entire process from dispatch across the Atlantic to final delivery was completed in 40 days, with the TLC team coordinating transport, customs formalities and the other required project stages.

Oversized cargo transport
Cargo of this type is often transported using Flat Rack Flat Rack containers, open platforms or other specialised solutions. These allow machinery and equipment exceeding the width or height of a standard container to be transported.
Industrial equipment, tractors, tanks, construction machinery, modular structures and other non-standard cargo can be moved in this way. The specific solution is selected according to cargo dimensions, weight, route and the carrier’s technical restrictions.
