Project overview
The TLC team uses a range of specialised transport solutions for oversized and project cargo. One of them is – platform containers, designed for large and heavy cargo.
In one project, we successfully used flatrack containers to organise the transport of wind-turbine components. The open container structure made it easier to plan loading, positioning and securing of the cargo.
This type of solution is particularly useful when the cargo dimensions or shape make transport in a standard closed container inefficient.
Challenge
Wind-turbine components have non-standard dimensions, weight and shape, so their transport requires a solution that provides greater flexibility during loading and securing. In such cases, the walls and roof of a standard container can restrict handling possibilities, so it is important to select equipment that allows safe access to the cargo from several sides and precise weight distribution.
Our solution
We selected flatrack containers for the project, enabling efficient loading and transport of the wind-turbine components.
The open structure made access, positioning and securing easier and provided more flexibility when working with non-standard equipment.
In every case, the container type, cargo arrangement and securing plan are selected individually according to cargo dimensions, weight and the specific route.
Result
Wind-turbine components were successfully transported using platform containers.
The project demonstrated that choosing the right container type can simplify loading of non-standard cargo, provide more securing options and help organise the entire transport process more efficiently.
Key advantages of flatrack containers
Flatrack containers are suitable for large and heavy cargo that cannot be conveniently loaded into a standard closed container.
