Project overview
The TLC team received and acted as agent for the vessel arriving from Sweden at the Port of Klaipėda, „ULVIK“carrying approximately 4,000 tonnes of cement for Lithuania’s construction sector.
The project covered coordination of the vessel’s arrival and service at the terminal, continuous communication with the shipowner, and timely information on vessel movements and cargo-handling operations.
Cement was discharged at the terminal through a closed pipeline system from the vessel into storage tanks, reducing contact with the environment and making the handling process more efficient.

Challenge
In a ship-agency project, it is important not only to receive the vessel correctly in port but also to ensure smooth information flow between the shipowner, terminal and other parties.
For this cement cargo, efficient coordination of discharge operations and rapid response to vessel movements and terminal progress were particularly important.
Our solution
The TLC agent coordinated the arrival and service of MV ULVIK at the Port of Klaipėda. Continuous contact was maintained with the shipowner throughout the call, with prompt updates on vessel movements and discharge progress.
Together with terminal partners, we ensured the smooth discharge of cement into specialised storage facilities. The operation used a closed pipeline system, enabling efficient management of bulk-material flow and reducing dust emissions.
Result
MV ULVIK was successfully received and serviced in the Port of Klaipėda, while the cement cargo was smoothly transferred into the terminal’s storage facilities. The project demonstrated the importance of ship agency in maintaining effective communication between all participants, supporting prompt decision-making and ensuring efficient vessel service in port.
Key project aspects
The TLC team received and acted as agent for MV ULVIK, which arrived from Sweden in Klaipėda carrying cement for Lithuania's construction sector.
Approximately 4,000 tonnes of cement intended for the Lithuanian market were delivered to Klaipėda by vessel.
At the terminal, cement was transferred from the vessel into storage tanks through a closed pipeline system, reducing contact with the environment and limiting dust dispersion.
The TLC agent coordinated the vessel's arrival and service at the terminal, maintained communication with the shipowner and provided timely updates on vessel movements and discharge progress.
Ship-agency services at the Port of Klaipėda
A ship agent coordinates numerous processes between the vessel, terminal, port and other service providers. Prompt communication, coordination of documents and vessel movements, and continuous monitoring help ensure a smooth port call.
TLC provides ship-agency services at the Port of Klaipėda, coordinating vessel arrivals, service, cargo-operation information and communication with shipowners and other project participants.
