Project overview
The TLC team contributes to the development of green energy in Lithuania by professionally managing the logistics of wind turbines and other project cargo.
Projects of this type are complex – one vessel may carry wind-turbine blades, another towers, and another other equipment and components. Each project therefore requires precise coordination of transport, handling, documentation and port processes.
Working together with Klaipėda Container Terminal and other partners, TLC ship agents, freight forwarders and customs brokers coordinated major project-cargo flows through the Port of Klaipėda.

Challenge
Wind-turbine set logistics requires the coordination of large components for different purposes, which often arrive not on one but on several vessels.
The arrival, handling, documentation and onward movement of each vessel’s components must be aligned so that the overall project proceeds smoothly and the construction schedule is not disrupted.
Our solution
TLC managed the project cargo as one integrated logistics process. Ship agents coordinated vessel reception and servicing, freight forwarders handled cargo movement, and customs brokers managed the required procedures and documentation.
In cooperation with Klaipėda Container Terminal and other partners, cargo-handling operations, component reception and onward transport were coordinated.
This model brought different services together in one chain and made it possible to manage a large volume of project cargo efficiently.
Result
The TLC team successfully managed a significant flow of wind-turbine components through the Port of Klaipėda by coordinating multiple vessels, cargo handling, freight forwarding and customs processes.
The projects demonstrated that a single team of specialists working closely with terminal partners can efficiently handle complex green-energy project cargo.
Key project aspects
The project-cargo logistics included coordinating the transport of different wind-turbine components – blades, towers and other equipment.
Different wind-turbine components were transported on separate vessels, requiring precise coordination of their arrival, servicing and cargo-handling operations.
TLC ship agents, freight forwarders and customs brokers worked together on the projects, coordinating transport, documentation and port processes.
The project cargo was handled together with Klaipėda Container Terminal, coordinating the required port infrastructure, cargo-handling equipment and terminal operations.
Project cargo logistics for the energy sector
Wind-energy projects often require sea transport, ship agency, terminal operations, freight forwarding, customs procedures and onward component delivery to be coordinated at the same time.
TLC organises project and oversized cargo logistics, helping connect different transport and port processes into one manageable chain.
